Wax Museum

American Hero:

Your child chose an American Hero from a list of choices.  Please do not select a different person for this project.  They are working with a partner or small group to complete this research and the 2nd grade teachers have provided appropriate websites to conduct the research.  Thank you!

 Report:

This week we will complete the research during class in order to create a report on an American hero.  Each student has a guide to help with this process.  However, as your child sees the types of questions that are provided to guide their research, they are welcome to look for answers and/or just learn more about the hero at home.

Posters:

**Please provide a poster (tri-fold or regular poster) for your child.
Next week we will work on posters. How this is completed is totally up to your child. He/she can work on it during class and/or at home. I just want to make sure all students have the opportunity to create a poster.

I will provide a poster to anyone who needs one as well as the time needed to complete the poster. He/she can do the whole thing at home, at school, or a mixture of both. If your child works in his/her poster at school, he/she is welcome to get help from others, but your child is ultimately responsible for his/her poster. Every student will have a separate posterThat is one of the reasons we came up with a tentative date for the Wax Museum. This our first time creating a Wax Museum  and we are not quite sure how long they will need for each part of the project.

Wax Museum:

Each student will have a separate spot for the Wax Museum.  They will not present with their research partner.

I hope this clarifies any questions you may have about this project.  If not, please feel free to email me.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!

I just want to thank everyone for the amazing gifts that were given to me before winter break!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I couldn't thank you enough for thinking of me!

I was diagnosed with the flu the Friday before break (as was my youngest daughter). I hate I missed out on our winter party and getting to open gifts with my students.

Thank you to Ms. Wilkinson and Mrs. Cecil for putting together our party and a big thank you to Mrs. Hall for being willing to sub on the day before a holiday!!! :)

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!!
