Weekly Update: March 31st-April 4th

Paper Product Drive

Today begins our Paper Products Drive sponsored by student council.  A note went home about this event last week.

Testing

This week 3-5 grade will have 3rd quarter testing.  They will be testing throughout the building so please remain quiet if you enter the building.  We will be doing quiet reading stations this week.  

4th Quarter

Tomorrow marks the beginning of our last quarter for this year.

Weekly Update: March 24th-28th

ZOO FIELD TRIP

Unfortunately, we had to change the date of our zoo field trip because of a scheduling conflict with NCHS athletics.  Our trip has been moved to May 12th.  I apologize for this inconvenience.  

The cost for this trip is $11.00.  Please send in $11.00 if you have not already done so.  We are not permitted to bring food inside the zoo, therefore we will all eat at the zoo.  The cost of lunch is included in the $11.00 charge.

**A note will be going home today about this scheduling change.

Play Field Trip

We have been asked to attend an environmental play on April 16th.  We will be eating at school that day.

**A permission form will be going home today.

Spring Pictures

We will have spring pictures on Thursday, May 27th.

Career Day

We will have career day on Wednesday, March 26th.

Character Dress Up Day

Green Eggs and Ham

We enjoyed reading Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss and we enjoyed a yummy breakfast of green eggs and ham!!

Dr. Seuss Research

We partnered up with Mrs. Glover's first grade class for Dr. Seuss Research!  We had so much fun!

Weekly Update: March 10-14

PD 360:

Our class video was chosen to be represented on the PD 360 website for thousands of educators to watch. Yay!  I'm so proud of our class for having such awesome behavior and working so hard!  I will be showing the class the video this week.

Read Across America:

We will be celebrating Read Across America this week.  There are lots of fun activities planned to promote the love of reading.

Monday:
2nd Grade is wearing crazy socks!!  We will be reading Fox in Socks!

Tuesday:
2nd Grade is wearing a cat hat or any hat!  We will be reading The Cat in the Hat!

 K-2 Book Swap

Wednesday:
2nd Grade is wearing stripes!  We will be reading Oh, the Places You Will Go!

Thursday: 

-Cuddle Up With a Good Book - WEAR PJ's!!!!

-Reading Night 6-7 (storytelling, read with your child, and reading games). FREE BOOK FOR ATTENDING!!!

Friday:

Favorite Character Dress-Up Day (all participants will participate in the parade)

Field Trip:

Our next field trip will be on Friday, March 14th at 12:30 to see the play Miss Nelson is Missing.  So far, I have NOT been informed of any parents who plan to attend.  Please let me know if you plan to attend.  There is limited seating. 

 **We will be eating lunch at school.

**The cost for this trip is $6.00.  If you have not paid, please pay as soon as possible.

Weekly Update: March 3-7

Sorry this is so late!  I've had a sick child at home. :(

Progress Reports:

I don't believe progress reports went home on Monday while I was out (this just dawned on me). I will make sure to get them in Communication Folders tomorrow.  Sorry!!

NCTIES:

I will be attending a technology conference in Raleigh on Thursday and Friday of this week.  Mrs. Hall will be my sub.  I will be checking emails so please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.

Book Fair:

The Book Fair is being held this week.  We went today during our library time, but they can shop for the rest of the week.

Jump Rope for Heart:

All donations are due by Friday, March 7th.
